Gladslayne formed in Brazil in the early 2000s with Rodrigo Gladslayne on vocals and guitar, Rafael Andrade on guitar, André Lisboa on bass, and Vinicius Souza on drums. Their first album, 'Reino Contra Reino,' came out in 2004 and gave them a radio hit with the title track. That song, along with others like 'Dá-me de beber' and 'Basta Crer,' became part of their setlist.
They followed up with 'Além do Céu' in 2007 and 'Terra' in 2012, then released 'O Tempo' in 2017. In 2009, there was some talk about similarities between 'Reino Contra Reino' and another artist's work, but the band kept going. Their songs often dealt with love, loss, and social themes over rock and pop arrangements with Brazilian touches.
