Gloria Tells formed in 1992 with vocalist Gloria Jones, guitarist Ethan Reed, bassist Mark Evans, and drummer John Smith. Their debut album came out in 1994, featuring the song 'Gloria Please' that became their most recognizable track. They put out two more studio albums, 'Unspoken' in 1996 and 'The Way Home' in 1998, before releasing a live recording from the Blue Note in 2000.
Jones's voice was the center of their sound, which mixed jazz, soul, and rock in a way that wasn't conventional at the time. Some of their other songs include 'Love!', 'Focus On Myself', and 'My Galaxy'. In 1996 they had a legal dispute with a former record label that they eventually resolved.
