Archive material and source history

God Street Wine formed in Neptune Beach, Florida in 1994. The band included Flynn Robinson on vocals and guitar, Kevin Griffin on bass, Brad Keller on drums, and Aaron Hutchinson on keyboards. They built a following in the Southeast with a sound that pulled from punk and folk, though they never quite fit neatly into either category.

Their debut album '3' came out in 1996 and had the song 'A Hammer And Spike' on it. That track got some attention, but the album's cover art showing a crucified Jesus also drew criticism from certain religious groups. They put out a couple more records like 'Something for Everyone' in 1998 and 'Indigo' in 2000, which kept them going through some internal friction.

Hutchinson left the band in 1999, and they had trouble finding a steady replacement. By 2004, they were trying to regroup with a new lineup, but the details from there get thin. Songs like 'Better Than You' and 'Crashing Down' show up in their setlists from that era, hinting at the material they were working with as things shifted.
