Godex formed in Ukraine in 2001 around vocalist Viktor Stryhalyuk and guitarist Vlad Prygon. Their debut album 'In the Name of Love' came out the following year, with its title track finding an audience in their home country.
Their song 'A Little Piece' featured Ukrainian folk singer Kvitka Tsisyk and was later at the center of plagiarism accusations, which the band denied. By 2008 they had released a fourth album called 'Goodbye', which had a more introspective tone. They toured in Europe and Asia around that time.
