ein Flügel war gebrochen
und der Engel weinte
denn er konnte nicht zurück
Und so saß er Tag um Tag
90 Nächte schlief er nicht
Die Bäume schüttelten ihr Laub
und der Frost hielt Einzug
ließ das Wasser erstarren
Der See wurde zum Spiegel
und die Tränen des Engels
gefroren noch im Fallen
zersprangen auf dem Eis
Ein zweites Wesen blieb am See zurück
als der Frost das Wasser stahl
Es war ein schwarzer Schwan
Er hörte die Tränen des Engels
wie sie als Eiskristalle zersprangen
Der Schwan war alt
und er wußte
es war sein letzter Winter
Er hatte Mitleid mit dem Engel
und gab ihm einen seiner schwarzen Flügel
Zum Abschied küsste der Engel den Schwan
und diesmal gefroren seine Tränen nicht
Der Engel flog davon
Der Schwan blieb zurück
Er weinte nicht,
denn er wußte
dass er als Teil des Engels
ewig leben würde
und fortan alles, was sich bewegt
niemals mehr zu Boden
sinken müsse.
Und er konnte den Engel sehen,
wie er immer höher flog.
Die Tage des Wassers
hinter sich zurück ließ.
