Goofy is a Brazilian band that formed with childhood friends from the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. They started by mixing rock, pop, and Brazilian folk sounds. In 2015, their song "Eu Sou Assim" became a breakout hit in Brazil, known for its message about self-acceptance.
The band's members include Rita Lee on vocals and songwriting, Roberto de Carvalho on guitar and backing vocals, and Arnaldo Baptista on drums and percussion. Their debut album was also called "Eu Sou Assim," and they followed it with another album titled "Identidade" in 2017.
Other songs in their catalog include "Fé Nas Maluca," "Goofylandia," "Suco de Maracujá," and "Foguete Amarelo." Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism for being outspoken, but they kept making music with their own style.
