Gouin Fred was a French pop group that formed in Paris in the late 1970s. The trio consisted of Gérard Presgurvic on vocals and keyboards, François Bernheim on bass and vocals, and Dominique Perrier on drums. Their name came from the French slang word 'gouinfre,' which means a glutton.
Their biggest hit was 'Ah! C'qu'on s'aimait!,' a nostalgic ballad about lost love that became popular in France. They released six studio albums between 1979 and 1988, including 'À bout de souffle' in 1980. That album contained a song called 'La Parisienne' that drew criticism for its lyrics about Parisian women, leading some radio stations to stop playing it.
Other songs in their catalog include 'Amours fragiles,' 'Bonsoir m'amour,' and 'Charmaine.' The group disbanded in 1990, but 'Ah! C'qu'on s'aimait!' has remained a familiar song on French radio since then.
