Goya Menor is a Nigerian duo made up of Augustine Okorie and Victor Udochukwu. They first appeared in 2021 with a sound that mixed Afrobeat and Amapiano. Their track 'Ameno Amapiano (feat. Nektunez)' caught on quickly and became their breakout hit.
That song used a sample from Era's 1996 track 'Ameno' without permission at first. Goya Menor later bought the rights to clear it. In 2022, they dealt with another copyright issue over a song called 'Bounce,' which they also resolved.
Their catalog includes 'Ameno Amapiano' in a few versions, including a David Guetta remix, along with other tracks like 'Grace' with Oxlade and 'Nobody Dey' with Peruzzi. Both members handle singing, songwriting, and production.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
