Grace Potter grew up in Waitsfield, Vermont, and started playing music early. She formed Grace Potter and the Nocturnals in 2002 with some friends, and the band put out a few albums over the next decade. Their self-titled record from 2010 had a song called 'I Want Something That I Want' that got some attention.
After the Nocturnals went on hiatus around 2015, Potter made a solo album called 'Midnight' that same year. She's also written songs like 'Big White Gate' and 'Alive Tonight.'
