Archive material and source history
Gravity Kills formed in West Allis, Wisconsin in 1992, with Jeff Scheel on vocals, Matt Johnson on guitar, Doug Scharin on bass, and Jeff Schock on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1996, anchored by the track 'Alive' which got some attention at the time. They followed it up with 'Perversion' in 1998.
Scheel's struggles with addiction and depression were part of the band's story, and he left in 2000. They've played together occasionally since then, but haven't put out new material. Songs like 'Belief (To Rust)' and 'Fifteen Minutes' still turn up on playlists from that era.
