Gravy NJ formed in 2015 around vocalist and producer June One, with guitarist Jung Sang-hoon, bassist Lee Sang-hyuk, and drummer Park Sung-jin. Their early EPs like 'Blue Moon' and 'Cherry Bomb' mixed alternative rock with hip-hop and electronic touches, but it was the 2018 single 'Gobaekhaneunnal' that really caught attention. That song, a ballad about a night when stars fall, topped charts in South Korea.
After some controversies in 2019, including plagiarism accusations around 'Gobaekhaneunnal' and criticism of their lyrics, the band took a break from public view. They came back in 2021 with the EP 'Parallel Universe,' which leaned more experimental, and have kept releasing music since, including the 2023 album 'Monochrome.'
