Green On Red formed in Tucson, Arizona, with Chuck Prophet on vocals and guitar, Chris Cacavas on guitar and vocals, Jack Waterson on bass, and Keith Mitchell on drums. They released their debut album 'Gravity Talks' in 1983, followed by 'Gas Food Lodging' in 1985 and 'The Killer Inside Me' in 1987.

Their 1987 album included 'A Guy Like Me,' which became one of their better-known songs. They put out two more albums, 'Here Comes The Snakes' in 1988 and 'This Time Around' in 1991, before disbanding the following year.
