Gregg Diamond was a band formed in the early 1980s, not a single person despite the name. They came together in Los Angeles with Greg Kihn on vocals and guitar, Rick Riso on guitar, Steve Tushar on bass, and David Lauser on drums. Their debut album 'Voices' came out in 1982.
That album included 'This Side of Midnight,' which became their biggest hit. The song reached number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Kihn left the band in 1984, with Paul Scanlon taking over vocals and guitar.
They released a few more albums like 'The Gregg Diamond Album' in 1983, 'The Road to Nowhere' in 1985, and 'The Promise' in 1988. The lineup changed over those years, with Jack White and Matt Johnson joining briefly in 1988.
