Grey Daze formed in Phoenix in 1994 with Chester Bennington on vocals, Sean Dowdell on bass, Jason Bunn on guitar, and Jonathan Krause on drums. They released their debut album 'Wake Me' in 1997, which included the track 'Sometimes.' The band went on hiatus in 1998.
After Bennington's death, Dowdell, Bunn, and Krause reunited in 2017 to work on material he had recorded. They released the album 'Amends' in 2020, drawing from those sessions. The collection features songs like 'Soul Song' and 'B12.'
Their music from both periods shows a raw, introspective quality that connected with listeners. The work they completed after reuniting gave a different perspective on Bennington's early vocal style, separate from his later fame with Linkin Park.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
