Archive material and source history
Grim Reaper formed in 1979 with Steve Grimmett on vocals, Nick Bowcott on guitar, Dave Wanklin on bass, and Lee Harrison on drums. They put out their first album, 'See You in Hell,' in 1983, and that title track became their best-known song. The band's sound was straightforward British heavy metal, built on Grimmett's strong vocals and Bowcott's guitar work.
They followed up with albums like 'Fear No Evil' in 1985 and 'Rock You to Hell' in 1987. Their lyrics and album art sometimes drew attention for dark themes, but the music itself was mostly just loud, fast metal. They kept recording through the early '90s before splitting up.
After disbanding, Grim Reaper got back together in 2006. They've played shows since then and put out another album called 'Resurrection' in 2016. Songs like 'Fear no Evil' and 'All Hell Let Loose' still turn up in their sets for fans who remember the '80s metal scene.
