Archive material and source history

Gritando En Silencio was a Mexican band with Julio Navas on lead vocals and guitar, Daniel Rivera on guitar, Miguel Echeverría on bass, and Alejandro Gutiérrez on drums. They put out three studio albums between 1998 and 2005, starting with Sueños Olvidados and ending with ¿Dónde Te Has Quedado?.

Their sound pulled from post-punk, shoegaze, and dream pop, giving their music a hazy, melancholic quality. The song ¿Dónde Te Has Quedado? became their best-known track, with its drifting guitar lines and Navas's subdued vocals. Other songs like Alma de Blues and Despojos de Poeta carried that same introspective mood.

They never broke through to a wide commercial audience, partly because they kept to themselves and didn't play the industry game. Their lyrics tended toward darker, personal themes, which some critics found too heavy. The band stopped putting out music after their 2005 album.
