Gekleed in zwaar brokaat

Sta toe dat ik het laat
De derde hoge mandarijn
Van purper was zijn boord
Sprak: ja, uw sterven doet mij pijn

En de drenkeling, hij vloekte luid
Hij zag ze verder gaan
Drie gouden draken zagen hem uit
De verte zwijgend aan
