Grupo 24 Horas formed in São Paulo in 1994. The original lineup included Ricardo Feghali on vocals and guitar, Alexandre Pires and Netinho de Paula on vocals, Fernando Pires on bass, and Leandro Lehart on drums. They released their self-titled debut album that same year.
Their music pulled from samba, pagode, pop, and funk. The song "Meu Pandeiro e Minha Roupa" became a lasting hit for them. They put out several albums through the late 1990s, including "Ao Vivo em São Paulo" in 1995, "Deixa a Vida Me Levar" in 1996, and "Festa Nacional" in 1998.
Alexandre Pires left in 1997 to go solo, and Netinho de Paula departed in 2001. The group brought in new members and kept recording and touring afterward.
