Background notes

Archive material and source history

Grupo Beijo Doce formed in São Paulo in 1979 with Marcia Ferreira on lead vocals, Eliana de Lima and Patricia Marx on backing vocals, and Terezinha Inocencio on keyboards. Their self-titled debut album came out the following year, and its track 'Confessa' became a hit with young listeners in Brazil.

Patricia Marx left in 1983 to go solo, and Adriana Ribeiro briefly filled in before departing in 1984. The group shifted their sound on albums like 'Só por Você' in 1983 and 'Beija-Flor' in 1985, moving toward something more polished.

Eliana de Lima exited in 1994, and Terezinha Inocencio followed in 1999, leaving Marcia Ferreira as the sole original member until the band stopped in 2007.
