Grupo Cruzando Fronteiras formed in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2007. The original lineup included Gabriel Troian on lead vocals and guitar, Luciano Sombra on bass, and Márcio DeCamillis on drums. They started playing live shows around the city, working with what they had.
Their song "É Luz de Minhas Retinas" came out on the 2015 album Retratos. It became their most recognized track, the one people ask for at shows. They've put out other albums too, like Fronteiras in 2011 and Além dos Mares in 2018.
Luciano Sombra left the band in 2020. They've since added guitarist Felipe Ott and bassist André Prando to the lineup. The group still plays shows, mixing Brazilian rhythms with other sounds they've picked up along the way.
