Grupo Eclipse formed in Mexico City in the early 1990s around vocalist and composer Humberto Reyes. Their debut album 'Sueños de Amor' came out in 1993, followed by records like 'Lágrimas del Alma' in 1995 and 'Dejame Volver Contigo' in 1997. These established them with romantic ballads that found an audience.
Their song 'Ella Vive Con Otro' from 1999 became particularly well-known. Other tracks like 'A Noelia', 'Amor de Contrabando', and 'La Razón De Mi Vida' round out their catalog of sentimental material. The group included Carlos Montoya on drums, Ernesto Villagomez on bass, and Jose Luis Castro on guitar.
Keyboardist Sergio Ortiz died in a car accident in 2002. The band continued, releasing albums like 'Homenaje a Sergio Ortiz' in 2004 and 'Amor Eterno' in 2008. Their work stayed within the romantic ballad style they developed in the 1990s.
