Archive material and source history
Grupo Elegância formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1990s with Márcio Art on vocals and guitar, Bruno Barbosa on pandeiro, Serginho Moreira on surdo, André da Silva on cavaquinho, and William de Souza on repinique. They built their sound around samba and pagode rhythms.
Their debut album 'Não Sou Nada Sem Você' came out in 2000, with the title track becoming widely known. They followed with albums like 'Fui Eu' in 2002, 'Naquele Tempo' in 2005, and 'Coração Sem Freio' in 2009. Later releases included 'Ao Vivo no Morro do Chapéu' in 2013 and 'Eterno' in 2017.
In 2008, some band members were injured in a car accident. They also faced a copyright dispute around that time, but continued recording and performing afterward.
