Grupo Encontro

Grupo Encontro formed in Salvador, Brazil in the early 1990s, bringing together musicians including Márcio e Marcos Vinícius, Marinho and Marquinhos. They started playing at local churches and community events, with pastor Abílio Santana providing guidance. The group's early years involved working with limited resources and organizing fundraisers to support their music.

Their song "Vem Renovar Os Nossos Dias" became particularly well-known among Brazilian gospel listeners. Other tracks like "Sei Que Não Vou Desistir" and "Homens de Valor" also circulated through their recordings. The group's music combined gospel themes with contemporary rhythms, which drew some criticism from more traditional circles while finding an audience elsewhere.

They recorded several albums that appeared on Brazilian gospel charts. The group maintained a seven-member lineup through much of their activity, focusing on vocal harmonies and lyrics centered on faith themes. Their work continued through the 1990s and into the 2000s with songs like "Até Clarear" and "Nada Vai Superar" appearing in their catalog.
