Grupo Geal

Grupo Geal formed in 1996 as three brothers from Mexico: Gilberto, Everardo, and Alejandro López. They started singing together as kids, and after a few years of playing small shows, they put out their first album in 1999. That record, 'Herencia,' included the song 'Shilo,' which caught on at radio and gave them a national audience.

'Shilo' became their calling card, a ballad that stuck around. They followed it with albums like 'Tesoros,' 'Pasión,' and 'Romántico 2000,' and toured through Latin America, the U.S., and Europe. The lineup stayed the same, Gilberto on lead vocals, Everardo on requinto guitar, Alejandro on bass, though Alejandro's 2012 arrest on drug charges created some turbulence.
