Grupo Morenos Assanhados formed in 2007 in Salvador, Bahia, with musicians including Lucas Oliveira, Luciano Jesus, Antonio Andrade, and Bruno Oliveira. They started playing small venues and street festivals before their 2010 debut album 'Axé Bahia' came out. That album included their hit 'Ô la em casa'.
After that first album, they put out several more records over the next few years: 'Moreno é Assim' in 2013, 'O Baile do Moreno' in 2015, and 'Ô Loco Mio' in 2018. Their music drew some criticism for explicit lyrics and dance moves, though it found an audience too.
