Grupo Revolução came out of São Paulo in the mid-1980s with a raw, rebellious sound that didn't sit well with everyone at the time. Their debut album in 1985 included 'Ferrado e Lascado,' a song that became something of an anthem. They followed it with records like 'Porrada' in 1987 and 'Marginais' in 1989, which kept up their political edge.
Other songs from their catalog, like 'A Vida Que Deixei No Sertão' and 'Acaba Não Mundão,' show the same direct, unpolished approach. The band's lineup included Bebel Gilberto on vocals, João Barone on drums, Ricardo Silveira on bass, and Fernando Catatau on guitar. They recorded an acoustic session for MTV in 1999.
