Grupo TS formed in Comala, Colima in 1994, with three friends who named the group after 'Tres Sonidos' or 'Three Sounds.' They were José Guadalupe Cervantes, Juan Carlos Sandoval, and José de Jesús Sandoval. Their early work drew from banda music traditions in Mexico's regional scene.
In 1998, they released 'Deixa de Manha,' which became their breakout single. The song's straightforward melody and direct lyrics about love and longing connected with listeners. Other tracks like 'Quem É Você' and 'Sou Mais Você' followed a similar pattern of clear, emotive vocals over banda arrangements.
They recorded several albums through the 2000s, including El Privilegio, Por Un Amor, and Amor Prohibido. Cervantes handled lead vocals, Juan Carlos Sandoval played clarinet and led the band, and José de Jesús Sandoval contributed trumpet lines. Their sound stayed within the regional Mexican framework without dramatic shifts in style.
By 2009, they had been together long enough to compile a collection called 15 Años de Éxitos. They kept recording into the next decade with La Ley del Amor in 2011. The group's catalog revolves around themes of romance, attraction, and heartache, as heard in songs like 'Amor Casual' and 'Engano.'
