From 'Welcome to the Jungle' to the 'Use Your Illusion' era and a 2016 reunion.
For the raw early sound, 'Welcome to the Jungle' still hits hard. The later track '14 Years' shows the band stretching out as things got complicated.
Their 1987 debut 'Appetite for Destruction' gave rock a jolt with songs like 'Welcome to the Jungle'. The band's live shows were famously loud and unpredictable, and later albums like 'Use Your Illusion' captured the tension that eventually split the original lineup. The 2016 reunion tour brought Slash and Duff McKagan back to huge crowds.
They formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1980s and released 'Appetite for Destruction' in 1987. After 'Use Your Illusion' in 1991 and touring through 1993, the original lineup broke up, with Axl Rose continuing the name with other musicians. Slash and McKagan rejoined in 2016 for a reunion tour.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
