Gustavo Steyer

Gustavo Steyer came up in Porto Alegre, a city in southern Brazil. He grew up in a religious household where traditional gospel music was part of daily life, and that background shaped the music he'd eventually make.

In the early 2000s, Steyer started recording with a band. His first album, 'Sonhos,' came out in 2003. A few years later, in 2006, he released 'Meu Redentor,' a single that became widely known in Brazilian evangelical circles. Other songs like 'Quarto Fechado' and 'A Cada Passo' also found their way into his setlists.

Steyer's music stayed rooted in gospel, but he sometimes drew criticism for speaking openly about social issues and not following certain religious expectations. He kept recording and performing regardless, with songs like 'Eu Quero Ser' and 'Me Rendo Ante Ti' continuing in the same vein.
