Guy Pastor formed his band in 1976 after starting out as a solo musician in the late 1960s. They released their self-titled debut album that same year, followed by 'Blue Nights' in 1978. The group's lineup included guitarist Ricky Nelson, drummer Jerry Marotta, bassist Chris McHugh, and keyboardist Lee Francis.
In 1979, Guy Pastor & Company recorded a cover of Elvis Presley's 'Always On My Mind' that became their breakthrough. The song reached the top of the Billboard country charts. Their album of the same name came out that year.
Pastor faced personal difficulties including a 1981 arrest for drug possession and subsequent struggles with addiction and health issues. The band returned to recording in the 2000s with albums like 'Come On In' in 2004 and 'Guy Pastor & Company: The Legacy' in 2010.
