Archive material and source history
Guy2Bezbar is actually Daft Punk, the French electronic duo of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. They met in Paris and started working together in the early 1990s, releasing their first album "Homework" in 1995. That record included tracks like "Da Funk" that helped define a certain strain of house music at the time.
Their 2001 album "Discovery" contained "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," which became one of their most recognizable songs. They've been known for performing in helmets and maintaining a somewhat removed public presence. In 2013 they released "Random Access Memories," which included the track "Jour Et Nuit."
They made electronic music that drew from disco and funk, using synthesizers and drum machines in ways that felt both retro and forward-looking. The duo stopped working together in 2021.
