H Two O started with Toby McKeehan and Joey Elwood writing and playing together in Carrollton, Texas. Their song 'What's It Gonna Be' got attention when MCA Records released their debut album in 1995, and it reached the top of the Billboard Christian Rock charts.
Some critics raised concerns about the content in their lyrics, but the band kept making music. They put out six studio albums over time, moving from grunge sounds toward alternative rock and metal elements while Toby McKeehan and Joey Elwood stayed at the center of the group.
Joey Elwood produced and wrote songs for other artists after H Two O, including collaborations with his former bandmate.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
