haKsun formed in Porto Alegre with Caio Prado on vocals, Fernando Anitelli on guitar, Bruno Anitelli on bass, and Márcio Buzelin on drums. Their first album, 'Contos do Dia a Dia,' came out in 2003. The band's name reflects a mix of Japanese and Brazilian influences.
In 2008, they released 'Lápis Cor de Pele,' a song that became widely known for its lyrics about racial discrimination in Brazil. The track sparked conversations about inequality and became something of an anthem for acceptance. Another song, '10encantos,' also appears among their notable work.
They kept making music that blended their cultural influences with straightforward messages about everyday life.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
