A trio making guitar-driven songs that feel both immediate and lived-in.
If you're new to Halé, start with 'Shooting Star' and 'Bent Down.' They give you a good sense of what the band does, melodic, guitar-forward songs that don't overstay their welcome.
Halé's music has that rare quality of sounding like it's been around longer than it has. Songs like 'Shooting Star' and 'Kung Wala Ka' have a worn-in feel, like something you'd find on a mixtape from a decade ago. They're not trying to sound vintage, they just write songs that settle in.
The band formed in 2015 with Emily Alice on vocals and guitar, Sam Slade on drums, and Matt Botterill on bass. They put out their first album 'The Shadow of Ourselves' in 2017, followed by 'The Hourglass' in 2019 and 'The Lost Ones' in 2022.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
