The following year, his second album 'My Song Is You' included the song 'Ah Ee Seu Keu Ri (Ice Cream),' which became a major hit in South Korea.
That song, along with others like 'Don't Leave' and 'Because We Don't Love,' helped define his style in the late 1990s. He worked with producers Kim Hyung Suk and Lee Sang Min during this period. In 1998, he received a Golden Disk Award for Best Ballad.
His career included a legal dispute with his former record label in the late 1990s, which affected his momentum for a time. He continued releasing albums like 'The Love of My Life' in 2000 and 'My Way' in 2007. His live performances were noted for their emotional delivery.
