A Brazilian band from the 90s whose explicit lyrics made them notorious.
For their sound, start with 'Mulher do Caralho'. For their attitude, try 'Possuído Pela Sogra'.
Hangover mattered because they weren't playing it safe. Songs like 'Mulher do Caralho' and 'Canibal' were deliberately provocative, with lyrics that challenged social norms in a way that got people talking. They created a specific kind of Brazilian rock that was loud, crude, and unapologetic.
They formed in São Paulo in 1990 around frontman Júlio Porrada. Their debut 'Mulher do Caralho' arrived in 1992, followed by a few more albums through the decade before returning with 'De Volta à Cena do Crime' in 2000.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
