Hanydra formed in Los Angeles in the early 1990s around vocalist Damien Krieg and guitarist Ethan Blackwood. They worked through the city's underground scene, playing live shows and developing their sound. In 1997, they released the album "Nocturnal Darkness," which included the track "Alone Until I Die." That song connected with listeners and helped bring the band wider attention.
