Harhakuvitelma

Harhakuvitelma formed in Helsinki around 2001, built around the duo of vocalist Johanna Kustannimi and multi-instrumentalist Kimmo Pohjonen. Their debut album 'Tuhat laulua' came out the following year. The band's sound leans into atmospheric dream pop, with Pohjonen often using accordion and other traditional Finnish instruments to build the arrangements behind Kustannimi's vocals.

Their third album, 'Ajatellaan', gave the band its title track, which became a notable radio song in Finland. Other tracks like 'Akustinen Paetee' and 'Anna anteeksi iskä' show up in their catalog. They've worked with other musicians at times, including drummer Janne Haavisto and bassist Sami Kuoppamäki.

Later albums include 'Ilon ja surun kevät', 'Akvarelli', and 'Salainen puutarha'. The music tends to be introspective and built on careful layers of sound rather than big pop hooks. They've been active for over twenty years now, putting out records at a steady pace without much flash or drama outside the music itself.
