Background notes

Archive material and source history

Harmônica ACCS formed in Osasco, Brazil in 2003 as an accordion-driven group. Their sound pulls from forró, sertanejo, and axé rhythms, with Gilson Jr. handling vocals and accordion. They had a triangle player named Piauí, a zabumba player called Ceará, and other members on bass and guitar.

Their debut album came out in 2006, titled after the song "Desculpas." That track became their breakout hit. They followed it with albums like Arranhando o Céu in 2008 and O Que Você Faria in 2010.

In 2008, the band got tangled in a legal dispute over using a copyrighted melody without permission. They worked through it and kept making music, putting out more records through the 2010s.
