Hated was a Japanese metal band that formed in 1990. They released their first album 'Aiiro' in 1993, which became one of their most notable recordings. The band's lineup included Hiroki Yamamura on vocals, Masaya Hirata on guitar, Hiroaki Takano on bass, and Ichiro Agata on drums.
Their music drew from Western metal influences but incorporated experimental elements like noise and ambient passages. This approach gave their work a raw, aggressive quality that stood out in the Japanese metal scene of the 1990s. They released several albums throughout that decade, including 'Hated' in 1994 and 'Deformation' in 1995.
Hated disbanded in 2001, though they briefly reunited in 2007. Yamamura also performed with another band called The Mad Capsule Markets. The group sometimes stylized their name as 'HΛTED' in official releases.
