Background notes

Archive material and source history

Hayya is an indie rock band from Brooklyn that formed in 2014. The founding members were vocalist and guitarist Ella Hayes, bassist Jake Rodriguez, and drummer Max Harper. They started playing local clubs and open mics around that time.

In 2016, they released their debut EP 'Chasing Shadows.' The track 'Baby Blues' from that EP got some attention for its melody and lyrics about heartbreak. After that, they put out two full-length albums: 'Unveiled' in 2018 and 'In the Wake of Dreams' in 2021.
