Heartsigh formed in the mid-2000s with Ethan Grey on vocals and guitar, Ava Willow on bass, and Liam Hayes on drums. Their debut album 'Threshold' included the single 'Doors,' which became something of an anthem for listeners drawn to its themes of closure and new beginnings.
They followed with albums called 'Passage' and 'Enigma,' sticking with the introspective rock style that had connected with their audience. The band's lyrics often used doors as a metaphor for transitions and choices, a thread that ran through much of their work.
Heartsigh toured regularly, and their live shows were noted for their emotional intensity. At some point, they experimented with adding electronic elements to their sound, which didn't sit well with all of their fans. Ethan Grey also had some public struggles with mental health and substance use during the band's run.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
