Heathendom

Heathendom formed in Norway in 2007, started by vocalist and guitarist Jørn 'Necro' Stubberud and bassist Frode Ilstad. They play atmospheric black metal, a style they established on their first album, 'The Fall of Man,' which came out in 2008. Later records like 'Devoid' from 2010 and 'Grimnir' from 2015 followed in a similar vein.

Their songs often deal with heavy themes, including mental illness and existential questions. Tracks like 'A Sick Man's Dreams / Blissful Hell' and 'Die Insane' reflect this focus. The band's lineup has included drummer Erik 'Grim' Bjordal and guitarist Lars Larsen alongside the founding members.

Heathendom's music has found an audience drawn to its particular atmosphere and lyrical content. They've kept at it without much fanfare, putting out records every few years and sticking to their sound.
