Héctor Montaner is a Venezuelan musician from Maracaibo who came up in the gaita scene. In 1971, he helped form the group Serenata Guayanesa with Mauricio Castro, Pedro Castillo, and Henry Martínez, a quartet known for its arrangements of traditional Venezuelan music.
He went solo in 1984 and recorded 'Amanecer Gaitero,' which became one of his most recognizable songs. Other tracks like 'Flaca' and 'Amor del Bueno' have also been part of his catalog. He's worked with artists including Ricardo Montaner and Simón Díaz.
Montaner was born in 1961. He was involved in a serious car accident in 1991 but returned to performing afterward.
