Heimdall

Heimdall formed in the early 2000s with Lars Denning on vocals and guitar, Per Amundsen on lead guitar, Aslak Ringstad on bass, and Even Eide on drums. They took their name from Norse mythology and released their debut album 'Dark Home' in 2006, which included the title track that became a fan favorite. The album established their sound with heavy metal riffs and intricate instrumental passages.

Per Amundsen left the band in 2010, but Denning and Eide continued with new members Jørgen Haavard on guitar and Stian Kristoffersen on bass. They kept releasing albums like 'Ascension' in 2012, 'The Cosmic Key' in 2015, 'Transcendence' in 2018, and 'Odyssey' in 2022. Their songs often drew from mythological themes, with titles like 'Godhall', 'Warriors Of Many Ages Past', and 'Bifröst' appearing in their catalog.

Their music incorporated elements beyond traditional metal, though some listeners felt this moved away from their earlier sound. They maintained a steady output over two decades without major lineup changes beyond Amundsen's departure, working within the progressive metal scene while exploring different musical textures.
