Heinz Aus Wien

Heinz Aus Wien formed in 1993 with Wolfgang Müller on vocals and guitar, Markus Acher on guitar, and Jürgen "Geige" Müller on drums. Their early sound pulled from garage rock and punk, with some experimental noise mixed in. They built a following in Vienna's underground scene with that raw, energetic approach.

In 1998, they released "Scheiße," a song that drew criticism for its explicit lyrics and vocal delivery. It also found an audience that connected with its directness. Other songs like "So Wie Dieser Tag" and "(Ich Waer Gern) Johnny Depp" show their range, touching on more melodic or playful territory while keeping their grounded, sometimes provocative edge.

They put out albums like "Eine Nacht in Wien" in 2000, "Wiener Blut" in 2003, and "Österreich" in 2010. Their music incorporates folk, jazz, and avant-garde elements alongside their rock foundation. Their lyrics often deal with identity, politics, and aspects of Viennese culture, delivered with a plain-spoken, sometimes confrontational style.
