A New York metal band that kept going through lineup changes and decades.
For a sense of their sound, 'Dream Deceiver' has that melodic metal feel they did well. 'The Black Book' from their later period shows they were still writing solid material.
Hellion formed in 1982 when heavy metal was finding its footing in New York, and Ann Boleyn's voice gave them a distinct presence from the start. Their debut 'Amnesia' landed on Megaforce Records and got radio play, and songs like 'Dream Deceiver' showed they could write hooks that stuck. They kept putting out albums through the '90s and 2000s, never quite stopping even as members came and went.
They started in New York City in 1982 with Ann Boleyn, Joe Taylor, John Tempesta, and Spike Cassidy. After 'Amnesia' in 1985, the lineup shifted over the years with players like Vivian Campbell and Dave Ellefson passing through while Boleyn stayed. They released albums like 'Screams in the Night' and 'The Black Book' into the 2000s.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
