Henson Cargill

Henson Cargill was a country singer who had his biggest moment in 1968 with 'All Over The World,' a song about the loneliness of traveling musicians that became his signature piece. He was born in Mena, Arkansas in 1927 and started recording in the mid-1960s, putting out his self-titled debut in 1966. His sound leaned toward traditional country, with songs like 'Blackjack County Chain' and 'Boxer' showing that straightforward approach.

He worked with producer Frank Jones and had musicians like steel guitarist Don Helms in his band the Country Kings. In 1972 he released 'Skip a Rope,' which got some critical attention. Later on he moved toward bluegrass material in the 1980s and 1990s. Cargill died in 2006.
