Editor's note

Vapo, the Korean producer with a knack for features

Heo Won Hyuk works under the name Vapo, crafting tracks that lean on sharp collaborations.

For a sense of his style, 'Wanna Know' and 'Meu Tempo' frame it well. They're both built around that guest interplay.

Vapo's music often feels like a curated space for other voices. The track 'Wanna Know (feat. Mason Home)' is a good example of that dynamic. It's not about a solo spotlight, but about building a mood where a featured artist can land cleanly.

The available songs suggest a consistent approach centered on collaboration. From 'Meu Tempo' with BIBI and Simon Dominic to 'Sirius' with M1NU, the focus stays on pairing his production with distinct vocal or rap features.

Archive material and source history

Vapo is a South Korean alternative hip-hop trio led by singer-songwriter Heo Won Hyuk. The group formed in 2016 with members Yoon Kyung-ah (KEYNO) and Choi Hyun-jun (shin yongjae). Heo Won Hyuk first gained some attention through his participation in the hip-hop competition show 'Show Me The Money 6' before forming the group.

Their debut single 'Fever' came out in 2017, followed by the EP 'Vanishing Point' that same year. In 2018, their collaboration with R&B singer Seori on 'Running Through the Night' brought them wider recognition. They've since released tracks like 'Meu Tempo' featuring BIBI and Simon Dominic, which appears among their most popular songs.

In 2019, Heo Won Hyuk faced plagiarism accusations regarding their single 'Your Ocean,' which led to an apology and the song's removal from distribution. The group continued with their 2020 EP 'Signal.'
