H.E.O.S. formed in Los Angeles in 1991 with four members: Damon Edge on vocals and guitar, Lexxi Laforte on drums, Rafe Raven on bass, and Echo handling keyboards and sound effects. Their name stood for Higher Energy Output System, which fit their live shows. They put out two albums in the 1990s, starting with 1993's 'Metal Brains.'
Their sound mixed heavy metal riffs with electronic touches, which didn't sit well with some traditional metal fans at first. The band also drew attention for using radioactive symbols in their album art and stage setups, with some critics calling it provocative. Their song 'Metal Brains' became a standout track from that era.
H.E.O.S. broke up toward the end of the 1990s. The members moved on to other projects afterward.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
